Stephen is able to organise a telephone meeting (30 minutes) with you in the first instance and face to face meetings can be orchestrated to follow. Please see testimonial's from LTA Level 4 coach David Burwood and Chalfont St. Peter Tennis Club in Buckinghamshire's committee:
'In September 2015, I first met Stephen Wright. We had both been accepted on the LTA Level 5 Master Club Coach course. This is the top Tennis coaching qualification on offer from the national governing body of Tennis here in Great Britain, and it’s an honour and privilege just to be selected to go on this course.
Twelve club coaches started out on this demanding and career enhancing course. The tutors made it very clear that not all candidates would succeed. As the cohort progressed through the various modules that ranged from Business Administration off-court to Tactical and Technical aspects of coaching and playing tennis on-court, it become apparent that several members of my peer group had a natural flair for both coaching the game, and managing their coaching business. Stephen Wright was one of these rare coaches.
It was very clear to me that Stephen had an excellent depth of knowledge on how the LTA’s game based approach to coaching tennis should be delivered on court. When I found myself repeatedly challenged by the practical exams, Stephen was quick to step forward and offer his services as a mentor, to guide me through the nuances of what the LTA Tutors and Examiners expect of candidates coaching at a top club level.
It must have been quite a daunting challenge to mentor someone some 20 years your senior. However, with a combination of wit, charm, and patience, I genuinely believe this outstanding coach will provide me with the missing pieces to eventually pass the last parts of this challenging LTA coaching course.
Should any aspiring tennis coach, at any level of the game, find themselves in a similar position as myself, I would strongly recommend they seek out the mentoring skills of Stephen Wright. I can assure you, he will enable you to achieve your goals. '
David Burwood – LTA Tennis Coach (L4)
LTA Sponsorships Manager 1998 – 2001
University of Bath Tennis Coach and Team Captain 1989 – 1993
'Stephen joined our Club, as Head Coach, only 18 months ago as a replacement for our existing coach. When Stephen joined us the membership of our Junior section consisted of only a few children and there was very little enthusiasm for Juniors at our Club. In the last year Stephen has worked with the Committee to create new initiatives to encourage membership and develop tennis in our community. This has been extremely successful and we currently have fifty junior members.
His coaching has been received with enthusiasm both by the children and the parents and due to this one of the parents has joined the committee as junior coordinator to further develop with Stephen junior Tennis at Chalfont St Peter Tennis Club. For the first time for many years Stephen ran during the school holidays a number of summer camps which were extremely successful. Another first for the club was the entry of an Under 9 Boys team in the 2017 Buckinghamshire Summer Aegon League and we are proud that they finished runners up in this league competing against some large Buckinghamshire Clubs. Much of the success was attributable to Stephens coaching and development of the squad.
Stephen has also been very busy in our community and has been liaising with Junior and Senior schools to establish links with them to develop tennis in our area. The committee are very pleased with the tremendous effort Stephen has shown in developing our Junior section.'
